Fraser Babies: Meet Up is an online drop-in community session for politically engaged young Australians of colour and/or First Nations people.

The sessions are designed to build a primary community around the development of new Australian musical called Fraser Babies, written by Jules Orcullo, supported by The Joy Offensive. Fraser Babies is a high-energy pop musical about two rival high school debating teams in 2024, who join forces to critique Australia's political elite. Fraser Babies: Meet Up will form the show's primary audience and its core participants will be integral to the show's development.

We also hope that the sessions bring together young people from diverse backgrounds who might otherwise be disparate during a period of intermittent border closures. The space will also provide opportunities for reflection, solidarity, and organising.

To take part in Fraser Babies: Meet Up, participants should be 16-21 years of age and have community affinities with CaLD, BIPOC, diaspora identifies, and/or First Nations identity, and/or migrant or refugee background.

Participants should also have experience or keen interest in at least one of the following:

  • Activism and social justice work

  • High school debating

  • Australian politics

You do not need to have any experience or interest in drama, theatre, music or musical theatre to participate.
